A Quick Hazy Bit Update
Hi there, fellow old game lovers. groovinflannel here with a few updates on Hazy Bit.
First off, I want to thank all of the early subscribers for being here! Creating and writing Hazy Bit has been a blast so far, and it means a lot to have some people on the journey with me as I try to build a fun and informative retro gaming newsletter that people want to read.
Second, given my current schedule and the limited time I have between work, school, and other obligations, I will be limiting my publishing schedule to monthly for the foreseeable future. I hope this will give me more time to do deeper retrospectives on games that I love (or have always wanted to try), in addition to adding a couple of news stories and other content to each issue. Monthly gaming magazines like EGM, Nintendo Power, Tips & Tricks, GamePro, etc were a big part of my childhood and teenage years, and I would love for Hazy Bit to mimic the feel of those publications with something like a feature story, some news pieces, maybe an interview here and there, and possibly small snippets of reviews on games that don’t warrant a full post. I hope to return to a bimonthly and eventually a weekly schedule in the future.
That’s all for this quick little update. Next up this month will be a review of the original Resident Evil that will be sent out on Halloween for some spooky reading. The rest of this year will be Super Nintendo-centric: in November, I’ll be playing Hazy Bit’s first SNES game, Donkey Kong Country, and in December, I’ll finish off the year with a fun issue on my top soundtracks on the console.
Thanks again for reading! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and end to 2024. Happy gaming!
